Project Experience
TEKLED supplies and specifies lighting for projects across the United Arab Emirates, working with developers, main contractors, consultants and interior designers from the design stage through to delivery on site. The projects above were completed in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah, and span three sectors with very different technical demands. What a hotel guestroom asks of a luminaire has almost nothing in common with what a factory bay asks of one, and the specification work differs accordingly.
Hotels and restaurants place two opposing demands on a lighting package. Public areas — lobbies, restaurants, spa and pool decks — are judged on atmosphere, so colour rendering, dimming behaviour and the absence of visible glare matter more than raw output. Guestrooms are judged on comfort and control: bedside switching, reading light that does not spill across the room, and warm colour temperatures that stay consistent from one fitting to the next.
At the Santorini (Park Inn) Hotel on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, the scope covered ambient and accent lighting throughout common areas, suites and outdoor spaces. For Al Bareeq (Radisson Blu Canal View) in Dubai, completed in 2018, the work focused specifically on design light fittings for guestrooms. The Madison (The Loft) Restaurant at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Waterfront, is a dining interior where lighting is part of the experience rather than a background service.
Residential towers and villa compounds are won or lost on repeatability. The same fitting is installed hundreds of times, so consistency between production batches, straightforward replacement years after handover, and performance across corridors, car parks, landscape and facade positions matter more than any single headline feature. Emergency and escape-route lighting has to be coordinated with the same package rather than treated as an afterthought.
Al Mamsha Sharjah, developed by Alef Group, is a mixed-use residential development in Sharjah. Oasis Towers in Ajman is a 30-floor residential building where the package covered both indoor and outdoor lighting, completed in 2018. The Palmarosa SPA Living in Dubai Land covered 277 villas and apartments and was completed in 2017 — a scale at which procurement scheduling and delivery sequencing become as critical as the specification itself.
Industrial lighting is an engineering problem before it is a design one. Fittings have to survive dust, sustained heat and washdown, reach the required lux level from mounting heights that make access expensive, and avoid throwing glare into the eyes of people working below them. Ingress protection, thermal management and the realistic cost of changing a fitting at height drive the specification far more than appearance does.
Factory and service buildings at BAY 5 in Ras Al Khaimah were delivered for Concrete Technology L.L.C. in 2018. Jebel Ali Labour City 3, in Dubai Industrial City, was an LED retrofit covering 26 buildings, completed in 2017. A retrofit at that scale is argued on running cost rather than aesthetics: energy consumption, replacement cycles and maintenance access across the life of the installation are what the business case rests on.
Most of the work on this page began the same way: a drawing set, a budget and a programme date. From the Dubai office, TEKLED supports architects, consultants, contractors and developers with product selection against a specification, sourcing for items that fall outside a standard range, and delivery scheduled to the sequence the site actually needs rather than in a single drop.
Projects have been delivered across Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah, in hospitality, residential and industrial sectors, with product supplied for both new-build and retrofit scopes. If you are specifying lighting for a project in the UAE or the wider Gulf, send the drawings and the programme — the quickest route to a useful answer is the actual documents.
